Now, I say 'real' but this barcode lacks the start, stop and check-digit codes as well as the quiet zones needed for it to be scanned by a barcode reader – this is because I wanted the effect to be as clear as possible rather than as real as possible. The time is shown as hhmmss. In theory the little red ticker is the microsecond time but as this animation only runs at 14fps (to keep the processing overhead down) it's not really showing that much.
