Method: Steel and Copper Wire

Description: The construction took about two weeks, on-and-off.

The materials are two types of wire - 2mm galvanised steel wire and 1mm copper wire (I think) - both of which were scavenged. The steel wire had been left in a garden for a year or two and was nicely weathered making it darker and less shiny, I don't think shiny new wire would have had quite the same effect. The design of the creature was just a few simple and very rough drawings. I didn't design the path of every length of wire - far too laborious - relying instead on intuition. The tools were just a pair of fairly hefty wire-snips and two pairs of pliers, one of which had a thick rubber-band around the handles so it would hold itself in position when released (very useful with only two hands).
